Merry Christmas!

My first Christmas at home with mommy and daddy...I got so spoilt!  I saw another Santa today...I liked this one more...He gave me presents :)

I went to meet Santa today...I had a photo taken with him...not sure if I like that man...

That's better!

I went to the audiologist this morning...I was tested in the booth again...and I did very well :) my daddy was asked to speak through the microphone so that I could hear his voice - it was very soft but I got so excited when I heard him :) aunty Kara said that the results from the last few times in the booth and today show that my hearing loss in now mild to moderate and not profound!!!!  :) :) :) She said she will like to try less powerful hearing aids next year...

I went to the audiologist today....I was tested in the booth without my hearing aids...I think I did really well because I got a lot of praise :) I responded to most of the sounds :) Aunty Kara said that judging by the results from today's tests my hearing aids are too powerful for me now!!!!!  I am going to be tested a few times like this :) We are returning these hearing aids for now :) I had fun reading my book this afternoon....

I Like To Move It, Move It!

Today I actually did a proper crawl :) so pleased with myself !!!

Hands & Knees

This morning I discovered that I can get on my hands and knees and practise crawling all on my own!!!  I surprised mommy and daddy when they woke up but the got a fright :) I now have a camp cot so I can't fall out!

Injection :(

I went for my 12 month injection at Stork's Nest Parklands today...I weigh 6kg!!!! I also went to visit my friends in the NICU! :)

I had an appointment with aunty Kara (audiologist) again today. She did another development assessment...

Listening - 9 to 12 months (was 6 to 9 months last month)

Emerging Meaning - 9 months (was 3 to 6 months)

Vocal Expression - 12 months ( was 3 to 6 months)

Sick :(

I have been sick since yesterday :( I went to see Dr Egner, he says I have gatsro...my weight has dropped to 5,45 kg - I'm not a happy baby....

Doctor, doctor

I had an appointment with Dr Egner today. I now weigh 5,7kg!!!! My head has caught up to where it should be, my length is just a little behind now...Dr Egner was happy with everything...Dr Egner said my congested nose could be my adenoids he checked my tonsils and said they looked a bit fleshy...he also said it could be something to do with the fact that I had tubes etc in my passageways for so long after I was born...Dr Egner said the rash on my arms looks a bit like Eczema - he gave some cream called Daktacort. Dr Egner played with a squeaky toy to see if I would react to the sound and I did :) every time he made a noise with it :) My next appointment is in three months time...

Too Cool!

I Am One!

WOW! Can you believe it?! I am one year old today!! I woke up moments before my real actual time of birth this morning :) My daddy is spending the day with me and mommy today :) YAY! We went to say hello to Dr Nagel, we gave him a cake and a milktart to celebrate my birthday :) Next we went over to Parklands, we saw all our old friends...the security, the cafe staff, the pharmacy staff, the reception staff...then we headed up to NICU where we delivered a cake for them as well :) All my friends there were happy to see me :) next stop was labour ward :) then maternity ward :) lots of excitement everywhere :) Next we headed to St. Augustine's to visit Dr Egner. He also got a cake and a milk tart :) His staff told us Dr Egner was asking when I am coming to see him again :) It was a nice "non- appointment" visit :) When we got home I had so much fun opening my presents! It was so fun ripping up the paper and trying out the new toys :D So much excitement today...sooo tired....must...sleep...

Cochlear Implants...

Today I had another appointment with the audiologists...we go every week...I was tested in the booth with my hearing aids on...afterwards they told mommy and daddy that I might be a candidate for Cochlear Implants...

My 1st Birthday Party!

Today was my first birthday party!!! I had so much fun!! Mommy let me sit and play on the grass for a bit...I got to chew on a chomp for the first time :) I also got to chew on a marshmellow cone - which I enjoyed until it was dunked in chocolate...then I threw it on the floor...my cake was made up of lots of cupcakes...I had one too :) I enjoyed squashing it and making a mess with it :) All my big friends had fun at my party too! I got a lot of presents but I will only open them on my real birthday...Thank you so much to my granny and my aunty Olivia for having such an awesome party for me :) and thank you to everyone that came to help us celebrate! I love you all!

How Do You Rate Me?

I had an appointment with the audiologists today. They put me in the booth again. This time my daddy sat with me.  I had fun playing with aunty Lauren.  Everyone was clapping for me so I think I did well this time...I even turned my head to look at the screens when they came on which I haven't done before...New impressions were taken of my ears because I need new moulds for the hearing aids because my ears have grown!!!!  The ones I have now keep coming out! Aunty Kara also did a development assessment.  This is how she rated me:

Cognition/Play : 6 to 9 months

Social Interaction : 9 to 12 months

Listening : 6 to 9 months

Emerging Meaning : 3 to 6 months

Vocal Expression : 3 to 6 months

(Remember that my "corrected age" is considered as about 7 and a half months even though my real age is nearly 12 months)

The Barnyard Theatre at Gateway is going big in order to celebrate its tenth birthday as it prepares to stage Big Top Rock from 18 October to 8 January 2012. This show is bound to have audiences spellbound, as this sequel to Rock Circus takes the show’s concept to new heights.

My First FUN-d raiser :)

I went to the audiologists this morning. They tested me in the booth again and I think I responded well :) I had fun playing with aunty Lauren and her toys :) I also liked all the clapping I got when I responded :) I also got weighed at a clinic today - 5.4kg!

What an earful...

I got my hearing aids (Phonak - Naida V UP Paediatric) on Tuesday (27 September 2011). When the sound was first turned on I got so excited - I laughed :) My hearing aids are blue...I had fun with my singamajig and Zak from ZingZillas...I also watched a bit of Wonder Pets - They saved the beetles stuck in a yellow submarine under the sea!!
